| Host Media Processing Software |
| |
| Sophisticated Dialogic® Host Media Processing (HMP) Software performs media processing tasks on general-purpose servers without requiring the use of specialized hardware. Dialogic HMP software provides media services for building flexible, scalable, and cost-effective next-generation media servers, converged telephony applications, gateways, and video portals. When installed on a system, Dialogic HMP software looks like a Dialogic® board with DM3 architecture to the customer application, but all media processing takes place on the host processor. |

| Dialogic® SS7/SIGTRAN Protocols |
| |
Dialogic® SS7/SIGTRAN signaling protocols utilize a reliable, technology-independent, middleware-based Signaling
Distributed Architecture (SigDiA). SigDiA is integral to the complete range of Dialogic SIGTRAN/SS7 protocols as well
as its SS7 boards and signaling servers. |
SigDiA can function in various implementations,
such as a hybrid TDM/IP environment (Figure 1)
and a heterogeneous operating system
environment (Figure 2). |

SigDiA and its protocols provide numerous benefits including:
• Flexibility to meet diverse requirements worldwide through choosing and mixing the best platforms and most suitable
form factors for optimum price-performance and time to market
• A cost-effective high-end solution that provides high performance with card offload and blade server distribution
• Shared signaling network access
• Development investment protection
• Proven track record of deployment for more than a decade
Several Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems currently have full protocol and board support under SigDiA,
including:
• Solaris - Solaris 9, Solaris 10 (64 and 32 bit)
• Linux - Red Hat 9, RH enterprise server, MontaVista, SUSE, and others
• Windows - NT4, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP
SigDiA has also been used successfully with the following operating systems:
• HP-UX, HP-UX 64 bit, SCO Unix, DEC Unix, Compaq Sequent
• Embedded operating systems |

| Integrated Media Gateway |
| |

|
IMG 1010
- Turn-key, carrier-grade, VoIP media gateway that performs two-way
conversion between circuit-switched networks like the PSTN and packetswitched
networks like the Internet or private IP networks.
- A single IMG 1010 may contain up to 32 IMG 1010 units capable of providing
SS7 signaling redundancy.
Gate Control Element Management System (GC EMS) Server
- Required to configure, monitor, and provision the IMG 1010.
- Two servers can be utilized for redundancy.
Admin Workstation
- Used to remotely access the GC EMS server.
|
| |
| IMG 1010 Capabilities |
|
|
An Integrated Media Gateway solution
- Integrated TDM and IP with interworking
|
Error Handling
- Play Treatment or tones
- Release with Cause
|
|
Signaling and Bearer Capabilities
|
Integrated Routing
- ANI/DNIS
- Incoming Channel Group
- Nature of Address
- Time of Day
|
|
| |
- The IMG 1010 simultaneously supports SS7 and ISDN signaling, as well as
H.323 and SIP. It performs the function that has been traditionally
performed by 2 network elements; an SS7 Signaling Server and an IP
Gateway.
- The IMG 1010 can be configured to support up to 768 TDM channels and
up to 768 VoIP channels.
- The IMG 1010 solution offers integrated routing capability, routing based
on a number of criteria such as Calling and Called Party address,
Incoming Channel Group, Nature of Address and Time of Day. The IMG 1010 also supports digit translations, enabling you to modify an
incoming or outgoing number or parameter value. As an example, you can
prefix digits or delete any number of digits during call routing translations.
- Error handling behavior can be configured on a per channel group basis.
The options for responding to an error condition, also known as a cause,
are to play a treatment or release the channel with cause. The cause
codes are pre-defined in cause code tables that are assigned to channel
groups.
- The maximum number of routing tables and cause code tables is treated
as a pooled resource. Up to 65 routing tables and/or cause code tables
can be defined on the IMG 1010.
